Different operations. Different billing questions.
Large equipment loads, refrigeration, multiple meters, and account changes can make commercial bills difficult to reconcile. Choose your industry for a practical explanation of the charges we examine, a hypothetical review scenario, and the records that help establish whether a correction is supported.
Manufacturing and cold storage lead this directory because of the billing complexity discussed in these guides. This is an editorial order, not a ranking of error rates or promised recoveries. A complex or expensive bill is not proof of overcharging.
Manufacturing
Plants, fabrication & industrial operations. Compare billed kW, meter multipliers, and any demand ratchet with the applicable tariff and interval data. A lower production month does not necessarily remove a valid ratchet charge.
Cold Storage & Refrigerated Warehouses
Refrigeration, freezer storage & distribution. Review measured demand and tariff billing demand alongside available interval data. Defrost cycles, compressor operation, and seasonal loads provide context without proving an error.
Food & Beverage Processing
Processing lines, bakeries & beverage facilities. Check demand calculations, billing periods, meter multipliers, and applicable tariff classification against the records for each line or building.
Hospitals & Healthcare Facilities
Hospitals, medical campuses & care facilities. Match service addresses, meter numbers, and responsible entities across hospitals, clinics, offices, and central facilities. Review account openings, closures, and transfers.
Hotels & Hospitality
Hotels, resorts & lodging portfolios. Compare metered demand and tariff calculations while accounting for seasonal equipment use and demand history. Occupancy alone does not establish the correct charge.
Commercial Real Estate
Office buildings, retail centers & property portfolios. Match landlord-controlled meters to the right building, common area, and service period. Check closed accounts and documented transfers for overlap.
Grocery Stores & Supermarkets
Supermarkets, food retailers & convenience stores. Compare billed demand and tariff rules with meter data. Refrigeration and HVAC peaks can explain cost changes even when sales are similar.
Restaurants & Food Service Groups
Restaurant groups, commercial kitchens & catering. Compare the contract rate, delivery items, billed units, estimated readings, and later adjustments for each kitchen account.
Schools, Colleges & Campuses
School districts, universities & educational facilities. Reconcile building and central plant accounts, meter identifiers, and demand rules. Academic breaks do not necessarily eliminate tariff demand obligations.
Warehousing & Distribution
Distribution centers, logistics hubs & fulfillment sites. Review billed demand, relevant tariff provisions, meter multipliers, and recorded usage. New conveyors or charging equipment may create legitimate load changes.
Check your account’s service area.
An industry match does not establish eligibility by itself. Review our geographic service-area guide for electricity and natural gas account considerations. Availability depends on utility territory, account type, records, and agreed scope.
California is excluded. If your business spans several states, our team can help define an account-by-account review.

Present supported claims and confirm refunds or credits actually received before the agreed recovery fee is invoiced.
Choosing an industry utility audit
What if my industry is not listed?
Contact our team with your business type and service state. These guides highlight common billing contexts; eligibility and scope are determined from the actual account.
Are these equipment efficiency assessments?
No. These services examine electricity and natural gas billing, contracts, meter records, and potential historical overpayments. Engineering, equipment upgrades, and future procurement are separate work.
What is the recovery fee?
Our standard fee is 30% of eligible historical refunds received or credits actually applied, as defined in the signed agreement. No recovery means no recovery fee. Refunds are not guaranteed.
Energy-use background: the U.S. Energy Information Administration’s building activity guides and Department of Energy process heat overview describe different operating contexts; they do not establish billing error rates.
