Your operation. Your billing records.
A closer look at restaurants & food service groups energy bills.
Restaurant groups often manage electricity and gas accounts across several landlords, suppliers, and opening dates. Our restaurant utility bill audit creates an account-level picture of cooking, refrigeration, heating, and other billed energy charges.
What the audit examines
Gas supplier and delivery charges
Compare the contract rate, delivery items, billed units, estimated readings, and later adjustments for each kitchen account.
Electric charges by location
Check service periods, applicable tariffs, demand items where present, and supplier pricing without assuming all locations share the same terms.
Openings, closures and deposits
Reconcile first and final statements, account transfers, payment postings, and credits after a restaurant closes or changes operators.
From a question to a supported claim
Where records and applicable rules allow, review up to three years of billed charges. Each month is checked against the terms that applied then. Identified amounts are distinguished from claims submitted and refunds or credits actually received.
Investigate before assuming an error.
A closed location continues to receive a statement. We examine the service termination confirmation and final billing period to distinguish a valid closing adjustment from an unsupported continuing charge.
This is a hypothetical review example, not a client result or a promise of savings.
Records that move the review forward
- Electric and gas bills for each restaurant
- Supplier agreements and renewal notices
- Opening, closure, and operator transfer dates
- Final statements and deposit or credit records
Start with one recent complete bill. Our team will request the additional account history needed for the agreed scope.
How an industry-specific review works
Upload a recent bill for preliminary AI-assisted screening. Our team receives the findings and confirms account eligibility, the commercial entity, and the records needed for a full review. The first screening is a starting point and requires human verification.
Before recovery work begins, the final audit agreement and limited letter of authorization must be completed and signed. Supported billing disputes are directed to the responsible utility or supplier, and any recovery is verified before the agreed fee is invoiced.
Our standard recovery fee is 30% of actual eligible historical refunds received or credits applied, as defined in the agreement. No recovery means no recovery fee. Lookback periods, eligibility, and recovery depend on the facts and applicable rules. California is excluded; review the service-area guide before submitting.
Restaurants & Food Service Groups audit questions
Can a smaller restaurant group start with one location?
Yes. Start with one eligible commercial bill for preliminary screening. The team can then define whether a broader location-by-location historical review is appropriate.
Can you check both electricity and natural gas?
Yes, for eligible commercial accounts within the agreed service area and scope. Supply and delivery can appear on separate bills, and the responsible supplier or utility may differ for each disputed item.
Does a bill review guarantee a refund?
No. A valid charge may look unusual. We need account records and applicable tariff or contract provisions to support an error, and the provider’s review process determines whether a correction is accepted.
