Your operation. Your billing records.
A closer look at hospitals & healthcare facilities energy bills.
Healthcare buildings may operate around the clock while separate facilities, central plants, and medical offices sit on different accounts. Our healthcare utility bill audit focuses on the billing records, without requesting patient information or interfering with clinical operations.
What the audit examines
Campus account reconciliation
Match service addresses, meter numbers, and responsible entities across hospitals, clinics, offices, and central facilities. Review account openings, closures, and transfers.
Demand and supplier pricing
Compare tariff demand calculations and contracted supply components with the billed charges, allowing for legitimate continuous operating loads.
Gas and account adjustments
Examine boiler-related gas billing units, supplier rates, corrections, deposits, and credits against supporting records.
From a question to a supported claim
Where records and applicable rules allow, review up to three years of billed charges. Each month is checked against the terms that applied then. Identified amounts are distinguished from claims submitted and refunds or credits actually received.
Investigate before assuming an error.
A health system consolidates billing after acquiring a clinic. We reconcile final bills and opening balances to determine whether a questioned item is a transfer, an unpaid balance, or a potential duplicate.
This is a hypothetical review example, not a client result or a promise of savings.
Records that move the review forward
- Complete facility-level electric and natural gas bills
- An account roster with legal entity and meter details
- Supply contracts and acquisition or transfer dates
- Relevant payment records; exclude patient data
Start with one recent complete bill. Our team will request the additional account history needed for the agreed scope.
How an industry-specific review works
Upload a recent bill for preliminary AI-assisted screening. Our team receives the findings and confirms account eligibility, the commercial entity, and the records needed for a full review. The first screening is a starting point and requires human verification.
Before recovery work begins, the final audit agreement and limited letter of authorization must be completed and signed. Supported billing disputes are directed to the responsible utility or supplier, and any recovery is verified before the agreed fee is invoiced.
Our standard recovery fee is 30% of actual eligible historical refunds received or credits applied, as defined in the agreement. No recovery means no recovery fee. Lookback periods, eligibility, and recovery depend on the facts and applicable rules. California is excluded; review the service-area guide before submitting.
Hospitals & Healthcare Facilities audit questions
Do you need patient records or medical information?
No. A utility billing review needs commercial account and billing information. Patient records and unrelated sensitive documents should not be submitted.
Can you check both electricity and natural gas?
Yes, for eligible commercial accounts within the agreed service area and scope. Supply and delivery can appear on separate bills, and the responsible supplier or utility may differ for each disputed item.
Does a bill review guarantee a refund?
No. A valid charge may look unusual. We need account records and applicable tariff or contract provisions to support an error, and the provider’s review process determines whether a correction is accepted.
