Your operation. Your billing records.

A closer look at warehousing & distribution energy bills.

Distribution sites can change tenants, extend operating hours, install automation, or add electric vehicle charging. A warehouse utility bill audit checks how those changes connect to the actual commercial electricity and natural gas billing records.

What the audit examines

01 / REVIEW FOCUS

Demand and account classification

Review billed demand, relevant tariff provisions, meter multipliers, and recorded usage. New conveyors or charging equipment may create legitimate load changes.

02 / REVIEW FOCUS

Tenant and site transitions

Match the account holder, meter, address, start date, and closing statement when a facility changes tenants or operators.

03 / REVIEW FOCUS

Supplier and gas charges

Compare supply terms and authorized fees, then examine gas heating bills, estimates, conversion factors, and corrections where applicable.

04 / HISTORICAL RECORDS

From a question to a supported claim

Where records and applicable rules allow, review up to three years of billed charges. Each month is checked against the terms that applied then. Identified amounts are distinguished from claims submitted and refunds or credits actually received.

A practical review scenario

Investigate before assuming an error.

A distribution center expands operating hours and sees a demand increase. We compare interval data and tariff calculations to establish whether the billed peak is supported before discussing a recovery claim.

This is a hypothetical review example, not a client result or a promise of savings.

Records that move the review forward

  • Utility statements for the main building and separate meters
  • Supplier contracts and renewal records
  • Tenant transition and equipment installation dates
  • Interval demand data and meter-change records

How an industry-specific review works

Upload a recent bill for preliminary AI-assisted screening. Our team receives the findings and confirms account eligibility, the commercial entity, and the records needed for a full review. The first screening is a starting point and requires human verification.

Before recovery work begins, the final audit agreement and limited letter of authorization must be completed and signed. Supported billing disputes are directed to the responsible utility or supplier, and any recovery is verified before the agreed fee is invoiced.

Our standard recovery fee is 30% of actual eligible historical refunds received or credits applied, as defined in the agreement. No recovery means no recovery fee. Lookback periods, eligibility, and recovery depend on the facts and applicable rules. California is excluded; review the service-area guide before submitting.

Warehousing & Distribution audit questions

Are refrigeration facilities included here?

Refrigerated sites have additional operational context. Our cold storage guide addresses those accounts specifically; the review still depends on the tariff, contract, and actual meter records.

Can you check both electricity and natural gas?

Yes, for eligible commercial accounts within the agreed service area and scope. Supply and delivery can appear on separate bills, and the responsible supplier or utility may differ for each disputed item.

Does a bill review guarantee a refund?

No. A valid charge may look unusual. We need account records and applicable tariff or contract provisions to support an error, and the provider’s review process determines whether a correction is accepted.
